Nanjing Lot B anchors an extensive new masterplan along this city’s primary commercial corridor with premier office space and multi-level retail.

Located on the city’s main axis between two Central Business Districts, Zhongyangmen and Xinjiekou, the site establishes a new center of gravity. With its massing concept and architectural identity drawing on prominent icons and landmarks of Nanjing, Lot B both stands out with its own iconic presence and responds to the surrounding context. Curvilinear gestures echo the nearby Ancient City Wall, Xuanwu Lake, and Zhongshan Mountain, while the tower’s tapered massing references The Porcelain Tower. The tower’s façade expression features vertical fins that reduce in depth as they rise, visually supporting the tapered tower as it ascends to its crown. Looking into a multi-story retail podium with a stepped, landscaped roof, the tower provides multi-level views toward Xuanwu Lake. At its base, the building embraces distinct opportunities on its four sides—a stately office entry lies on the south, an exuberant retail façade faces the main road on the east, and scaled down storefronts connect with the pedestrian network on the north and west.

Direct connections to Metro Line 1 support a transit-oriented approach to the site, reducing dependence on private vehicles. The building’s curtain wall system balances daylighting with thermal performance, and efficient mechanical systems reduce energy demand. These strategies contribute to the building’s LEED Gold BD+C certification.
