Situated along the West Palm Beach shoreline, the Family Church Development enhances a historic 10-acre site with upscale housing and amenities, as well as cultural and educational facilities.
The mixed-use development maintains the sanctity of the historic 1930s worship campus as it adds two residential towers and several community buildings including an updated education facility, as well as meeting and office spaces. Residences in the towers are oriented to take advantage of water views, while both buildings are connected by an amenity-filled podium with lush landscaping and rooftop gardens.
The team used the existing church’s architecture as a springboard for a unified material palette of beige stucco, green terra cotta, pre-cast concrete panels, and bronze paneling, bringing together old and new. The vertical proportions of the church portico inspire frames, arcades, and balconies integrated across the site in individual buildings while the towers step back to allow existing buildings and new development to coexist harmoniously. The Family Church Development creates a distinct West Palm Beach district where the church, school, and residences form a quiet yet animated walkable neighborhood.
