The KPF-designed residential building in London receives high praise in the publication’s latest issue.
The Lucan, a residential-led development located in The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, is “poised to redefine modern living in this prestigious London neighbourhood,” reports FC&A Magazine. The first standalone Autograph Collection-branded residences, the building is comprised of 31 boutique units and a full floor penthouse, offering sweeping views across Chelsea. With a design inspired by its context, “the building’s façade will echo the area’s architectural landmarks and iconic Georgian and Victorian architecture.” The Lucan includes “similar perks to staying at a five-star hotel, with access to benefits such as chauffeurs, personal trainers, housekeeping, a state-of-the-art gym, and 24-hour valet service.”
In recent coverage of The Lucan by Architect Projects, KPF Director Pamela Wackett explains: “The Lucan was designed to blend harmoniously with its local context. Externally, restrained horizontal bands refer to the neighbouring mansion blocks, whilst projecting bay windows, chamfered corners and setbacks offer a break from the more rigid repetition of the earlier buildings. A two-storey civic base defines the human scale, contrasting with the materials and articulation of the residential elements.”
