Sleeper Magazine Features KPF-Designed Park Hyatt Suzhou

For the firm’s fourth collaboration with the iconic hospitality brand, KPF created a design that takes inspiration from nature and the nearby Jinji Lake.

The 178-room Park Hyatt Suzhou includes amenities such as event spaces, a fitness center, a pool, and fully equipped spa. The Sleeper article describes the inspiration behind the project’s design – the Suzhou Gardens – and the integration of nature throughout the hotel including its stepped terraces, indoor/outdoor gardens, and sweeping views of the lake.

In the article, Josh Chaiken, Design Principal, spoke to the process of bringing the client’s request of a “contemporary estate organized around intimate gardens” to life. Inkai Mu, Managing Principal, discussed the long-standing partnership between KPF and Park Hyatt Hotels, and emphasized how the project pays homage to Suzhou through its low-rise design, inclusion of green space, and prioritization of lake views.

Sleeper Magazine specializes in hospitality and design; they publish their content digitally and in a bimonthly print version. Read the full article here.
