The adaptive reuse project was Highly Commended in the Planning to Address Climate Change category at the 2026 Planning Awards.
Panorama St Paul’s reimagines a 1980s office building as a case study in carbon-conscious design. Rather than demolish the existing structure, KPF treated it as an urban quarry, preserving existing structural elements while adding new floor area and reclaiming Portland stone and granite from the original façade to clad the new exterior. This approach delivers savings of approximately 465 kg CO₂ per square meter and complemented a net-zero operational carbon and zero waste to landfill strategy. The development has achieved BREEAM Outstanding for the office and core components and BREEAM Excellent for the retail portion.
The Highly Commended recognition follows the project’s Green GOOD DESIGN Award win in 2026 and multiple finalist nominations at the Building Awards and Building London Planning Awards in 2025.
