Selected by votes from the world’s largest community of architects and designers, the Architizer A+ Awards Popular Choice recognition is particularly welcome in this 50th anniversary year and reflects five decades of design that has shaped skylines, transformed cities, and pushed the boundaries of what architecture can be.
TCC DAKA Renewable Resource Recycling Center in Taiwan won the Popular Choice vote for the Best Large Mixed-Use Project for its groundbreaking facility, demonstrating the connections between culture, industry, and the built and natural environments. Located next to an operational cement factory, the project combines a waste-to-energy plant, visitors’ center, public park, and Taiwan’s largest seed conservation center.
Panorama St Paul’s has been named the Popular Choice winner in the Architecture + Stone category for its transformation of an outdated 1980s office building, reusing the original Portland stone and granite to create a new high-performance façade. The project has retained approximately 70% of the building’s original structure, introduced landscaped external spaces, and increased floor area by 96% – saving 465 kg of CO₂ per square meter in the process.
The Architizer A+ Awards is the largest architecture awards program, focused on promoting and celebrating the year’s best architecture and products.
