KPF Announced as Architect of New Boston Waterfront Development

The Charlestown Patriot-Bridge reported KPF as the designers of 425 Medford.

The developer of the new master plan on Mystic River, The Flatley Company, revealed KPF’s role at a meeting of the Boston Impact Advisory Group. KPF shared renderings of the master plan, which is in the early stages of development. The project’s design increases waterfront open space, reduces the footprint of buildings, and emphasizes the pedestrian experience of Boston residents. According to the Patriot-Bridge, “KPF is drawing from vibrant public spaces around the world while maintaining the historic themes and character of the Charlestown neighborhood.”

425 Medford is one of several KPF-designed waterfront projects currently underway in Boston. Others include Echelon Seaport, a mixed-income development with a vibrant public square; and Channelside, a sustainable community that integrates laboratory, office, retail, and residential components.
