The mixed-used neighborhood has been included in the 2025 Guangdong Future City Construction White Paper, in recognition of its advancements in integration, sustainability, and connectivity.
The white paper, released during the 2025 Guangdong Future City Conference, highlights three key features of the Qianhai Kerry Center: promoting connections between Shenzhen and Hong Kong with multifunctional development; embedding sustainability and resilience to coexist with nature; and integrating public transit and pedestrian infrastructure to enhance connectivity.
Qianhai Kerry Center is a 4-million-square-foot neighborhood connecting a scenic district on Shenzhen’s waterfront with a high-density and multi-layered network of programs including retail, office, residential, hospitality, garden terraces, and civic plazas, creating a culturally rich and vibrant micro-city.
The white paper comprehensively presents Guangdong province’s achievements in theoretical innovation, empirical breakthroughs, and industry empowerment, while establishing a replicable standard system.
The deep retrofit project addresses many of the problems facing universities today, such as how to adapt historic or legacy buildings to meet emerging requirements, reduce carbon emissions, and lower operating costs to meet highest sustainability standards.
