The founder of junya ishigami + associates presented his architectural portfolio and foundational design philosophies following an introduction by KPF Director Bob Graustein.
The Weitzman School of Design’s KPF Lecture series is a recurring event sponsored by KPF in honor of the firm’s late co-founder Sheldon Fox, who attended the architecture school at the University of Pennsylvania alongside the late co-founder Gene Kohn. Intended to provide a platform for established architects to share their approach and completed work with the University of Pennsylvania’s architecture students, the lectures are frequently attended by KPF leaders. Past KPF Lecture speakers include renowned architects Eric Owen Moss, Dr. Ken Yeang, and Charles Renfro.
Junya Ishigami’s presentation detailed his experience on famous projects such as the Serpentine Gallery Pavillion in London’s Kensington Gardens and his sinuous new addition to the Zaishui Art Museum in Rizhao, China. Beginning with an introduction by Bob, another KPF Weitzman alumnus, the lecture took place at the Meyerson Hall in Philadelphia on April 2 from 6:30pm to 8pm local time.
The entire KPF Lecture series is free and open to the public, learn more here.
