Heron Shortlisted in the Architizer A+ Awards

The KPF-designed residential project in Tampa has been selected as a finalist in the Popular Choice Vote in the Architecture +Concrete category, with voting open until May 12th.

Overlooking Tampa’s waterfront, Heron is comprised of two residential towers joined through retail podium. Cladding is minimized across the project in favor of board form structural concrete on the towers and perforated metal at the podium level. By integrating textures that are both rough and refined, the design nods to the natural surroundings and celebrates the pared-down expression of the structure. In 2021, Heron won the H. Dean Rowe Award for Design Excellence, the highest honor in the AIA Tampa Bay Design Awards.

Architizer’s A+Awards program is the world’s largest awards program for architecture and spaces. It’s mission is to democratize architecture, highlight the immense value of great design, and celebrate those that demonstrate excellence through their projects. Last year, Westlake 66, One Vanderbilt, and the lobby renovation of 712 Fifth Avenue were shortlisted in the Architizer A+ Awards and One Crown Place received a Special Mention.

Voting is open until 11:59 PM (EST) on May 12th. Cast your vote here!
