Hana Kassem Serves on the Jury for the 2025 AIA Austin Design Awards

The KPF Principal and her fellow jurors deliberated and conferred on April 17 to recognize the very best architecture completed by AIA Austin members.

With nearly three decades of experience leading projects in the United States and around the world, Hana’s human-centric approach to design brought a valuable perspective to the jury. She aims, through her work, to elevate well-being, individually and communally, by creating enriching and equitable spaces that are sensitive to societal needs. These principles are exemplified by her work on projects including the Kellogg School of Management Building at Northwestern University and the NYCHA Red Hook Houses.

Valuing a variety of perspectives, the jury is selected to reflect a cross section of design experience, backgrounds, and identity markers. Hana joined Ed Ogosta, Principal of Edward Ogosta Architecture in Los Angeles, and Wanda Dalla Costa, Principal at Tawaw Architecture Collective, on the jury panel. As part of the judicial process, the group was invited to Austin for a weekend of in-person deliberation and interaction with the local design community through the Jury Conversations event on April 17, where they discussed their design philosophies and project experience in advance of decision-making.
