KPF Director Greg Mell and Senior Associate Principal Leif Lee will attend the SCUP Symposium, “Bard College: Design that Honors the Past while Building for the Future,” to present the campus’s new KPF-designed Residence Halls.
The event will feature tours and discussions of the university’s recent developments, including KPF’s Passive House student housing and campus center, the Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts at Bard College by Frank Gehry, and the Performing Arts Lab by Maya Lin. Spanning four dorms and an additional communal building, the project adds housing for over 400 students, provides gathering and amenity space, and introduces a new design language that complements the existing architectural range on Bard’s campus.
Greg and Leif will present alongside Coleen Alexander, Bard Vice President for Administration, and Ofer Ohad, Principal and Managing Partner at DBI Projects, the project manager and developer for Bard. The presentation will explore the challenges that the project helps to solve, the design process, sustainability strategies, and how the project has become a catalyst for further growth at Bard.
