The KPF Senior Associate Principal will present Parkside Uptown at the launch event for the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) Texas Chapter in Dallas.
Marking the opening of the new Chapter, Franz will present KPF’s design of the Uptown Dallas mixed-use tower to an audience of industry professionals. The event invites designers, developers, students, and others to network and learn about the KPF-designed addition to the quickly evolving urban fabric of Dallas’s Uptown neighborhood. As Project Manager for Parkside Uptown, Franz will share his experience navigating the challenges and opportunities of building high-rise density into the capital city.
The first part of a KPF-planned, two-phase scheme, the tower humanizes the surrounding area with a pedestrian-oriented, mixed-use podium that engages pedestrian traffic. Office space is stacked above, interspersed with tenant-only amenities, and capped by a spacious sky lobby. Foregoing the typical central core approach, Parkside Uptown’s side-loaded core allows for open floor plans and plentiful daylight access. Extensive landscaped balconies and terraces carry nature through the tower vertically and build on the greenery of neighboring Klyde Warren Park.
The event will take place on November 14 at 5pm local time and is free to attend. It is sponsored by KONE, CDC, Oldcastle Building Envelope, and Corgan.
