Awarded in the Industrial category, The TCC DAKA Renewable Resource Recycling Center in Taiwan radically reimagines the role of industrial architecture in society. Demonstrating the connections between culture, industry, and the built and natural environments, the project situates a waste-to-energy plant, visitors’ center, and public park within the campus of an operational cement manufacturing facility.
Panorama St Paul’s wins in the Restoration and Renovation category for its transformation of an outdated 1980s office building, reusing the original Portland stone and granite to create a new, high-performance façade. The project retained approximately 70% of the building’s original structure, introducing landscaped external spaces, and increased floor area by 96%—saving 465 kg of CO₂ per square meter in the process.
Earning a Multi-Family Housing award, Guangzhou One Pengrui creates a cohesive neighborhood within the wider district, synthesizing local landscape and urban context into a sensitive, mixed-use design. The design prioritizes residents’ well-being across the apartments through biophilic landscaping, a pedestrian-focused experience, publicly accessible rooftops, and extensive balconies.
Huamu Lot 10 – The Summit won in the Mixed-Use category for creating a sustainable mixed-use urban environment that welcomes tenants and visitors to experience nature and art in an active setting, demonstrating a new form of participatory urbanism. The project arranges three office towers and a future museum around a central landscaped, green plaza.
The International Architecture Awards are organized by The Chicago Athenaeum and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies. KPF projects have been recognized in the awards program for ten consecutive years.
