Two KPF projects, UOB Plaza Bangkok and One Nine Elms, have been named the Best International Office Development and Best International Residential High-Rise Development, respectively, following regional award wins earlier this year.
UOB Plaza Bangkok is the head office for United Oversees Bank, overlooking Sukhimvit Road, one of Bangkok’s prime avenues in close proximity to Phrom Phong BTS station. The crystalline building is set back from the street wall to form a large green public plaza. Fronting the plaza is a transparent banking hall that caters to customer services, offering a welcoming presence. Following this sequence of public spaces, an intimate set of outdoor areas leads to the office lobbies and a lushly landscaped garden at the back of the site.
One Nine Elms, also honoured, serves as the focal point of the evolving Nine Elms district, with two slender towers dedicated to the Park Hyatt London River Thames Residences and Hotel. The project mixes different use types and tenures to create an active environment, providing almost 500 new apartments, high-scale amenities, and a central plaza with activated retail fronts.
