The KPF-designed tower in Nine Elms was highly commended in the annual awards ceremony hosted by The Concrete Society.
The Concrete Society noted DAMAC Tower’s unique building silhouette and extensive cantilevered sections that were achieved without impacting floor-to-floor heights. The project offers residential, retail, and office spaces within a frame cast in terra cotta, reconstituted stone, and glass.
The jury selected the project for the use of high-strength concrete to achieve the designer’s vision. “The complexity behind the build is easily appreciated,” commented the judges, in addition to appreciating the team’s ability to produce the project at a cost per square meter that was 80% less than the other developments in the Nine Elms site.
The award ceremony took place at the Royal Lancaster London on November 15. Learn more about the awards here.
