Connective Urbanism combines detailed project descriptions, custom graphics, and original thinking, inviting readers to engage deeply with ideas.
The publication has been recognized in the Book/Monograph category of the 2026 SMPS Marketing Communications Awards. “Connective Urbanism – New York” is the second in a trilogy of self-published books that embody KPF’s mission: to transform cities through craft, context, and performance. This volume explores context and KPF’s belief that architecture should improve the urban condition. Its 260 pages bring together ten New York projects completed since 2000, four speculations on the future of the city, and three essays from leading external contributors on New York’s origins, the polycentric city, and public housing.
Hand-finished by Italian fine art book printers, the book is tactile, considered, and deliberately slow—demonstrating that architectural publishing, at its best, is itself an act of design.
