Javier Roig
Director
Javier brings a holistic approach to architecture, urbanism, and leadership at KPF. His portfolio includes some of the firm’s most significant large-scale master plans, office repositioning, and hospitality projects, with a strong emphasis on sustainable design, social impact, and inclusive placemaking.
In London, Javier is the Design Director for KPF’s competition-winning design of 8 Canada Square, one of Europe’s most significant transformations in Canary Wharf. The development transforms a mono-use office building into a mixed-use destination including offices, an observation deck, theatres, and retail, while improving operational energy and retaining embodied carbon. He also leads the design of 40 Charter Street, Wood Wharf, a 53-storey build-to-rent residential tower with 552 high-quality units and curated amenity spaces that promote wellbeing and foster community engagement.
In continental Europe, Javier is leading the design for Entrecampos, a large-scale, mixed-use destination in Lisbon. Awarded the MIPIM 2025 “New Mega Development” award, Entrecampos is a magnet for investment and urban innovation. Javier also leads the design of a 150-meter luxury hotel and branded residences on one of the two tallest towers in Greece.
Javier has led several large-scale developments in Asia, focusing on placemaking, workspace, hospitality, and retail, including Shangri-La and Kimpton hotels in Shanghai. His master planning experience includes planning Yu Garden, where the Old City area of Shanghai is re-imagined as a new active heart of the city. Exuding a deep sense of history, the master plan generates a mixed-use character and livelihood that will reinvigorate the area. He is also currently leading the Kim Quy Park masterplan design in Hanoi, Vietnam, focusing on entertainment and hospitality.
Javier is instrumental in the success of KPF’s Design Committee fostering internal design dialogue, mentorship, and innovation while strengthening the firm’s culture of creativity and collaboration. Since 2014 he has led KPF’s social outreach program with Habitat for Humanity, helping build over 10 homes and raising more than $150,000 for families in need across Africa and Asia. Javier has spoken at conferences in Spain and Argentina and served as a design juror at Yale and Pratt Institute.
