Ten Bank Street represents an important puzzle piece that completes an ensemble of buildings at the western entrance to London’s Canary Wharf business district.
The 1.4 million square-foot office development is conceived as a high quality, flexible and sustainable commercial building designed to attract prestigious international tenants and enhance the surrounding public realm with a dynamic ground-level retail offering. KPF’s design features two reception areas, 24 floors of office space, three floors of amenity and event space, and five dramatic internal atriums.
The stepped massing of the scheme references the proportions of the neighbouring KPF-designed One Bank Street, creating a complementary pair to unite the South Dock. An arced indentation on the south façade gestures east towards Jubilee Square and creates a symmetrical counterpoint with the sweeping volume of One Bank Street to the west.
The development embraces the opportunity to create a new urban space informed by the site’s picturesque dockside setting. A decked promenade stretches along the South Dock, maximising public access to the waterfront and enhancing the legibility of the wider district.
