A jury of real estate industry experts has shortlisted CITIC Tower in the Best Chinese Future Mega Project category, and WF Central in the Best Retail Development category.
About CITIC Tower
Located at the core of Beijing’s new 30-hectare central business district, the nearly completed CITIC Tower, also known as China Zun Tower, will be recognized as the second tallest building in Northern China upon its official opening early next year. The design of the 528-meter tall office tower draws inspiration from the form of a traditional Chinese ritualistic artifact, the ‘zun,’ expressing its distinctive curvature and elegant sense of proportion while balancing design and articulation with structural requirements and leasing depth needs.
About WF Central
Set in Wangfujing, one of Beijing’s premier shopping districts, WF Central is a luxury retail and hospitality destination that is highly sensitive to its context within the historic city center. Located in the protected zone of the Forbidden City, WF Central’s design works within a height restriction of 32 meters and gradually steps down to the west in a gesture of respect toward one of the most venerated sites in Chinese culture. Inside, the development reflects the lively and diverse surroundings, featuring engaging interstitial spaces such as a retail arcade, soaring central atrium and rooftop gardens.
