SQ1 West Clears Planning Board in West Palm Beach

The 22-story office tower, developed by the Related Companies, gets the green light from city officials.

Located in the heart of a mixed-use destination in coastal Florida that has experienced a recent influx of financial firms, SQ1 West is a refined office tower that’s inspired as much by the historic character of West Palm Beach as it is by the area’s tropical, ocean-front climate. The building’s 22 stories include two retail segments on the ground floor, which are linked to pedestrian walkways, and upper-level terraces. The building’s interlocking form breaks down the rectangular massing of a conventional office building and allows the structure to more harmoniously blend in with its surroundings while providing tenants unobstructed views to the south.

The tower is part of a redevelopment project, undertaken by New York–based real estate developer the Related Companies, that will comprise 740,000 square feet of offices and nearly 64,000 square feet of retail space and was recently approved by the West Palm Beach Planning Board.
