One Bangkok Opens in Thailand

The new district, which includes four KPF-designed buildings, opened on October 25; aspiring to be the Heart of Bangkok, it fuses Class-A office space with a diverse array of shops, restaurants, and hotels.

On October 25, thousands of guests convened at One Bangkok to celebrate the 43-acre development’s grand opening and take in a spectacular performance put on by over 500 Thai and international performers and crew. Along with business leaders and political dignitaries, many of Thailand’s biggest celebrities graced the event’s red carpet, while notable performers included American actor and singer Loren Allred and Calum Scott, from Britain’s Got Talent. The celebration was produced by Auditoire, one of the producers behind the Paris Olympics Opening Ceremonies.

KPF contributed designs for four buildings within the new mixed-use district including two of its most prominent structures, Towers 4 and 5. Tower 4’s sleek form and cut-out balconies reference traditional Southeast Asian architecture, while the rational façade of tower 5 conceals the development’s largest floor plates. At the ground level, these glassy towers give way to human-scaled retail and hospitality destinations, which place an emphasis on wellness. The result is a naturally inspired and accessible design that fosters energy and activity around the clock.

KPF congratulates our client, Frasers Property Limited, and our collaborators, including SOM, Architecture49 Inc., Lead8, D103I, and many others, on this significant achievement.
