Open House New York Hosts Behind-the-Scenes Look at Edge

On October 17, Marianne Kwok, Design Director, joined Hervé Descottes, Principal at L’Observatoire International, to discuss the inspiration behind the observation deck at 30 Hudson Yards.

Open House New York (OHNY) offered a virtual tour of Edge, the tallest observation deck in the Western Hemisphere, along with an interview between Marianne and Hervé. While 1,100 feet above street level, the two conversed about the process that led to Edge’s dramatic realization. Marianne described the inspiration behind the design of the structure and space and Hervé provided insight into his vision for the deck’s illumination.

Open House New York is a nonprofit that aims to make the best architecture through the five boroughs more accessible to the city’s residents.
