KPF Becomes First Architecture Firm in United States to Earn WELL Health-Safety Rating Seal for its Headquarters

This month, KPF’s office located in Midtown Manhattan received the distinction for its hygiene and office policy updates.

The WELL Health-Safety Seal is issued by the International WELL Building Institute and is a certification of the health and safety within an indoor space. In order to earn the certification, KPF had to meet at least 15 of 25 features that focus on wellness, covering both hygiene of the space and mental health policies for its users. Some of the features KPF adopted include water and air quality monitoring, cleaning practices and documentation, and office policies that encourage employee well-being.

The seal is especially important for office spaces during COVID-19, as it assures individuals that the space is a safe environment. For those returning to the KPF office, social distancing guidelines are marked throughout the space. Further precautions include state-of-the-art air filtration systems, improved cleaning practices focusing on touch surface treatments, and emergency resilience protocols, all reinforcing KPF’s commitment to WELL Health-Safety.

This rating strengthens KPF’s commitment to designing healthy spaces by not only offering these benefits to tenants in WELL-certified KPF projects but also to the employees who make the firm’s vision a reality. Learn more about Well Health-Safety here.
