This fall, KPF hosted a remote challenge for the second year in a row to encourage the firm’s global employees to exercise for a good cause. Based on total miles covered, the firm donated over $25,000 to local charities and Habitat for Humanity.
Over the course of three weeks, KPF employees from around the world participated in the Extra Mile Challenge, logging activities through the exercise tracking app Strava. The seven global offices chose to support charities that had special significance to them, and because of COVID-19’s cancellation of the firm’s yearly trip, KPF chose Habitat for Humanity as their global charity. KPF donated $3.50 for every mile completed, and with over 8,800 miles tracked, the firm raised $27,131, with half going to local charities and the other half going to Habitat for Humanity.
142 KPF employees tracked over 1,400 activities across 14 different categories, which ranged from running and hiking to sailing and dragon boat racing. To encourage and excite employees, awards were given out for the fastest times in activity categories.
In an incredible showcase of dedication, KPF employees tracked 1,300 challenge miles in just 3 days on the first Race Weekend of the challenge, with 600 miles logged that Saturday alone.
