The KPF Global Head of Human Resources has been chosen to serve as a public member on the New York State Board of Regents’ regulatory body for the licensure of architects.
The New York State Board for Architecture is the administrative committee that oversees the licensing and practice of architecture in the State of New York. Composed of both licensed architects and public members, the board ensures that architects meet the necessary qualifications and standards to protect public health, safety, and welfare.
Joel will serve a five-year term as a public member of the board, beginning April 1, 2025, and ending March 31, 2030. A public member is not a licensed architect but rather an individual appointed to represent the interests of the general public in matters related to architectural practice and licensing during the board’s decision-making processes. As a KPF leader, Joel will bring a highly informed and practical perspective to the committee, while speaking on behalf of the citizens of New York.
Joel’s first board meeting will be in May 2025. Learn more about the board here.
