Jamie von Klemperer Leads Panel on Urban Regeneration at ULI Shanghai

KPF President James von Klemperer moderated “Urban Regeneration – Unlocking Opportunities to Drive Sustainable Growth” at the Urban Land Institute Asia Pacific Summit.  The panel participants included Dr. Cheong Koon Hean of the Housing and Development Board of Singapore, Ian Hawksworth of Capco, Fu Zhiqiang of Vanke, and Albert Chan of Shui On Land.

Focusing on the next phase of development in Asia, the panel focused on how compact cities with vibrant mixed-use districts linked to transit are well positioned to compete for industry, talent, tourism, and investment. The discussion explored development and urban regeneration initiative successes and cautionary tales, and addressed opportunities for the private sector that can enhance the competitiveness of the city.

Jamie has lectured at Harvard, Columbia, Tsinghua, Tongji, Seoul National, and Yonsei Universities, the ESA in Paris, AMO in Lyon, and at Yale, where he taught as a Saarinen Visiting Professor. He recently spoke at the fourth Nobel Laureates Symposium on Global Sustainability, hosted in Hong Kong.
