James von Klemperer Speaks at NYLON on ‘The Changing Face of Cities’

New York and London came together in a live webinar, organised by New London Architecture (NLA), on November 18 for a conversation on the future of our cities as we start to comprehend the long-term impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event formed part of the discussion around New London Architecture’s publication The Changing Face of London, which documents the past fifteen years of development in the UK’s capital, exploring the major sites of new development and their impact on the wider city. The research also looks ahead at areas that are predicted to undergo huge transformation in the next fifteen years.

James joined an illustrious panel to reflect and share stories of the past decade, discussing the major moments that shaped their recent histories and looking ahead to the next fifteen years as we contend with the radical shifts of 2020. Speakers included Peter Murray, curator in Chief at NLA; Benjamin Prosky, Executive Director, AIA New York; Yolande Barnes Chair, Bartlett Real Estate Institute; and Giles French, External Affairs Director, Innovation & Growth, City of London; Kim Yao, President AIANY and Principal at Architecture Research Office; and Howard Slatkin, Deputy Executive Director, Strategic Planning, New York City Department of City Planning.
