The KPF Principal’s presentation will be followed by a panel discussion on the future of university estates.
Elie will explore the new integrated campus at NYU Shanghai, a design that combines programmatic density with a focus on interdisciplinary integration and cultural exchange, celebrating and reinforcing connections and spaces. His presentation will illustrate themes, challenges, and solutions in university design and suggest ways that this approach can be applied to strengthen the connections across existing UK campuses. Elie has pioneered the use of data-driven academic master plans to deliver flexible frameworks and individual projects that address the needs and values of institutions such as King’s College London and The University of Birmingham.
Following the presentation, Elie will join a panel discussion with Will Reed, Development Manager at the University of Leeds, and Adam Scott, Founder and Global Creative Director at Freestate Studio. The panel discussion will be moderated by Lyle Chrystie, Director at Reiach & Hall.
The University Design Forum is an independent organisation founded to promote high quality design in university campuses, buildings and facilities, in the knowledge that this enhances teaching, learning, research and public engagement.
