Angela Wu Speaks with Engineering News-Record

The KPF Director touched on COVID-19’s impact on project completion timelines in San Jose, California.

As construction in San Jose continues throughout the pandemic, despite an initial slowdown, Angela Wu discussed the reasons for the ongoing work, explaining that the projects’ “timelines to opening are multiple years, promising a much different economic environment for introduction to market.”

Wu also notes that the pandemic accelerated trends that were already well underway, including attention to sustainability, flexible space planning, and create work-live-play environments. The need for mid-market housing is remains strong in San Jose, Wu said, “with emphasis on more robust amenities, outdoor spaces and interior planning that includes flexible work-live environments with plenty of natural daylight.”
