390 Madison Avenue and Hudson Yards Shortlisted for World Architecture Festival Awards

Two KPF projects have been shortlisted for the World Architecture Festival (WAF) Awards. Winners will be announced at the Festival, to be held in Berlin on November 16-18 later this year.

In the category of Office – Future Projects, 390 Madison Avenue provides an innovative and cost-effective solution to updating a valuable piece of real estate in midtown Manhattan. KPF’s creative reimagining of the current structure – which according to current zoning laws is overbuilt – maintains the allowable FAR by removing slabs in the bottom part of the structure and adding that square footage to the top.

New York City’s newest neighborhood, Hudson Yards, is shortlisted in the category of Civic – Future Projects. The master plan transforms an underutilized section of Manhattan’s West Side over active train yards into a new mixed-use neighborhood. Hudson Yards is the largest private real estate development in US history.
