With public voting now closed, the KPF-designed tower in Vancouver is one of the “10 most significant tall buildings from the past 12 months.”
Recognizable by its rounded corners, 320 Granville is built on a sloped site near Vancouver Harbour and includes terraced landscaping and a cascading lobby. The rippling, ribbon-like façade takes inspiration from the nearby waterfront while balancing the rectilinear stone and glass expression of its neighbors. The building is the centerpiece of the city’s developing Central Waterfront Hub and features direct access to Waterfront Station, a transportation center with rail, water, street, and air connections. 320 Granville sets a precedent for office design which engages and enhances the public realm with a pedestrian oriented street presence.
Voting in Dezeen’s contest was open to all, with 2023’s competition garnering over 1,000 votes. Winners were announced on World Skyscraper Day on September 3.
