The three-tower residential scheme in Chicago’s Fulton Market District was approved by the Chicago Planning Commission on January 19.
1325 West Fulton Street comprises three brick high-rises linked at the podium level and separated by public pocket parks. The first tower and shared podium, to be built in the first phase of development, houses 80 residential units, a 95-vehicle parking garage, and a suite of luxury amenities including a pool and dog run.
Adorned by red brick arches and open-air arcades, 1325 West Fulton Street references the material texture of the Fulton Market District’s industrial past while providing its residents with a high-end, indoor-outdoor lifestyle. The walkable neighborhood is a key consideration in the design, including features such as discreet parking infrastructure and pedestrian-accessible green plazas, which serve to blend the buildings into their urban context. Replacing a vacant lot between Ada Street and Elizabeth Street, the project seeks to revitalize a centrally located city block with beautifully crafted, contextual architecture.
