1000 Maine, designed by KPF in collaboration with Architect of Record, Fox Architects, is the centerpiece for Washington DC’s new waterfront district, The Wharf. Set on the bank of the Potomac River, the contemporary office building is shaped by both the contour of the waterway and the energy of its pedestrian-centric surroundings. The next generation workplace is flexible, light-filled and airy, and supports a variety of work trends. Occupant experience and comfort are prioritized throughout, especially with accessible terraces and roof gardens to provide opportunities for fresh air and the outside.
