Philip Jacobs ARB RIBA
Philip Jacobs has nearly 30 years of experience in the design of high-end, commercial interiors, with a particular focus in Southeast Asia. After twenty-three years of collaboration with KPF through his prior firm, aplusi asia, Philip joined the firm as a Principal in 2018, enriching the firm’s practice with his insight and experience in interior architecture for office, retail, residential, hospitality, and transportation projects of varied styles and scales. His clients include some of the world’s most renowned financial institutions such as Credit Suisse, Barclays Capital, Blackrock, ABN Amro, Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, UBS, and DBS Bank.
Philip’s global portfolio is unified by a clarity in improving efficiency without sacrificing comfort. His workplaces balance varied user environments and feature such specialized spaces as dealing rooms, private banking client suites, auditoriums, cafeterias, and mission critical facilities.
As leader of KPF’s Singapore office, he has been deeply involved in the new seven million square foot Terminal 5 Project at Changi International Airport, for which he has been managing the design of the interiors, cores and technical spaces, coordinating the multi-disciplinary consultant team, and overseeing the production of documentation.
While at aplusi asia, Philip served as a key team member, collaborating with KPF directly on such projects as One Raffles Quay and One Raffles Link, both in Singapore, and 18 Robinson, a 260,000 SF (23,900 SM) commercial high-rise with striking green terraces and public spaces, and home to KPF’s Singapore office. Also in the city, Philip played a key role in the design and delivery of the four million SF (371,600 SM) Marina Bay Financial Centre. The multi-phase development comprises three commercial and two residential towers, interlaced by an intricate underground retail and pedestrian network. Additional past projects with KPF include the Ping An Financial Centre in Shenzhen and the Abu Dhabi Airport Midfield Terminal in the UAE.
