Trent Tesch Discusses Career Influences and Design Triumphs with ULI NY

The KPF Principal sat down with the Urban Land Institute’s New York Chapter for their “5 Minutes With” series.

The interview series sits down with the architects and project leaders of the chapter’s Award of Excellence finalists to learn about their inspirations and experiences. As Design Principal for 55 Hudson Yards, a finalist in the Office Development category, Trent shared what makes him most proud of the project: “It’s the level of detail and execution we achieved on 55 Hudson Yards that makes me so proud. We invested a lot of energy into making the design a holistic experience by giving care to the small things such as stone finish and lift lobby details.”

In the conversation, Trent also reflects on the greatest influences in his career, naming KPF Co-Founders Gene Kohn and Bill Pedersen. He learned the importance of remarkable optimism and of establishing connections through design, respectively, from each of his mentors.
