Tour One Madison Avenue with Open House New York Weekend

On October 21, KPF Director Annie Savage and Senior Associate Principal Andrew Werner led a hard hat construction tour of the adaptive reuse project.

KPF’s transformation of One Madison Avenue features an updated, mid-century podium with the addition of an 18-story tower. Annie and Andrew provided first-hand insight into how the team developed the mega-column system that supports the added tower with minimal interventions in the existing building. The tour highlighted how 67% of the building’s original structure, including the limestone façade, has been retained in addition to how the new tower was designed to respect the neighboring Clock Tower. The tour was held on October 21 from 2:00 to 3:00pm. Register here.

Open House NY promotes broad, unparalleled access to the city and each year in October, the organization hosts a weekend festival that opens noteworthy destinations and experiences across the five boroughs to the public. 2023 marked the 21st annual OHNY Weekend, running from October 20 to 22. A few days later, on October 25, Archtober is hosting a tour of One Madison Avenue as part of the program’s Building of the Day series. Learn more about KPF’s approach to adaptive reuse work here.
