SPP Unveils Plans for Next Phase of Award-Winning Water Street Tampa Neighborhood

Today, Strategic Property Partners announced plans for a KPF-designed office building as part of the continued development of the walkable neighborhood.

Building on the success of Water Street Tampa, North America’s first WELL Gold-certified community and winner of the Urban Land Institute Americas 2023 Award for Excellence, SPP revealed plans for a KPF-designed office tower and two other buildings as part of the project’s expansion. The building will occupy an extension of Water Street currently under construction and will be a built-to-suit trophy office complex, with ground floor retail, extensive green space, and a focus on a pedestrian-friendly experience.

KPF designed Heron as part of Water Street Tampa’s first phase. The two-tower project was the first residential building to be completed in the neighborhood, and features a design inspired by the natural structure, purity, and vibrancy of Florida’s coral reefs. Cladding is minimized in favor of board-formed structural concrete on the towers where angular shifts in articulation provide a distinct presence on the waterfront.
