James von Klemperer and Rebecca Cheng Present North Bund (Lot 91) at Shanghai Architecture Expo

At the Hongkou Forum of the Shanghai International City and Architecture Expo, the KPF President and Principal showcased the sustainable supertall.

The Expo featured six, area-focused sub events, including a forum about the Hongkou district, one of the last prime locations in central Shanghai available for significant development. The theme of the forum was “New and Old Integration, Smart Resilience, Future Cities.” Jamie joined the event remotely, where he described the design of North Bund (Lot 91), a 480-meter tower slated to be the world’s tallest all-electric building. Rebecca was on site to delve into greater detail about the project’s sustainability features, including the building’s modulated triangular shape, which reduces wind loads, and the integrated photovoltaic solar panels harvest electricity. North Bund (Lot 91) broke ground earlier this year.

The conference was held from October 30 to November 1 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center. Read more about the forum here.
