Science and the City: the Rise of Urban Labs – Elie Gamburg Writes for the EG

In ‘Science and the City: the Rise of Urban Labs’, KPF Principal Elie Gamburg highlighted the role of the architect in developing successful and inclusive innovation districts, through high-quality placemaking, and the creation of pedestrian-friendly neighbourhoods.

Elie is the Design Principal for One North Quay, Europe’s largest and most technologically advanced life science building. The vertical campus will support cross discipline collaboration and set ambitious sustainability goals. Designed for flexibility, the development will accommodate up to 60% laboratory space, with the ability to accommodate significant chemistry and high containment facilities.

Elie was recently featured in the Architects’ Journal, in Lab Boom! an article on the rise of life science projects in the UK, highlighting the opportunities and challenges in this sector.
