Rebecca Cheng Joins Climate Lighthouse Forum During Shanghai Climate Week

The KPF Principal joined panelists from the business and sustainable development fields to comment on how design can drive sustainable cities.

On April 23, during the first Shanghai Climate Week, Rebecca participated in a panel titled “Climate Lighthouse Future Buildings and Communities,” joining representatives from Cushman & Wakefield, the World Economic Forum, GRESB China, Hong Kong Land, and Fangda Partners to discuss how timeless architecture can support institutions’ sustainability goals. Climate Lighthouse Forum was produced by Shanghai Climate Week and Rockwell Automation Initiative, and co-sponsored by Lingang Group, Hong Kong Land, Cushman & Wakefield, and Deloitte.

The conference took place in Shanghai’s West Bund, where KPF designed the West Bund Financial Hub, which will be the first community in China to obtain LEED Platinum and Well Community Platinum precertification. “Our works are designed for users ten years from now. We believe that classic designs can withstand the test of time and are also the most sustainable, environmentally friendly, and flexible designs,” Rebecca remarked. Learn more about the event here.
