The AIA Austin Emerging Professionals & Women in Architecture Committees organized a site tour of the KPF-designed mixed-use supertall tower.
Currently under construction on the banks of Lady Bird Lake in Austin, Waterline’s design takes inspiration from the natural landscape as it rises above the booming capital city. Extending public walkways and light rail connections and featuring sculptural columns made from natural materials, the building has a LEED Gold rating goal and will soon boast vertical greenery and native landscaping. The project is slated to open in 2026 with a topping out ceremony scheduled for August of 2025.
As Senior Designer on the project, Paulina led an AIA-organized site tour for interested local professionals – part of the younger generation of architects she seeks to mentor. Paulina’s 14 years of experience with KPF have involved everything from planning to interiors, preparing her for her current role on Waterline. Her expertise on the project lent itself to a comprehensive tour, where she went into detail about the design and construction process.
The tour took place on July 18 from 4-6pm. Learn more here.
