KPF Director Rutger Huiberts and Associate Principal Chandler Archbell were welcomed with a tour of the university followed by discussions with professors, and served as guest critics for a studio pinup presented by first year master’s students.
The semester-long program includes 27 MArch and BArch students in sessions that have been described as an “unforgettable experience.” Last fall, KPF hosted students at the New York office, with a visit to the fourth- and fifth-year studio project sites along The High Line. During the spring term, KPF has partnered with FAMU to join in-person and virtual review sessions, including the final review in April. Upcoming visits to the Tallahassee campus will be made by Rodney Bell and Anna Pietrzak, both Senior Associate Principals, Ayman Tawfeeq, Associate Principal, and Christina Brown, KPF Environmental Performance Specialist.
The programs gives KPF staff insight into the school’s curriculum and provides FAMU students with the relevant skills and experience necessary in the workplace. FAMU is one of seven Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in the US with accredited architecture degree programs.
