KPF New York Hosts Student Visit from The Center for Architecture Summer Program

For the second time this season, a group from the AIA New York’s pre-college program visited KPF’s headquarters, exploring the office and learning about the firm’s portfolio and structure.

On August 16th, students from the Architectural Design Studio, a two-week intensive summer program organized by the Center for Architecture, visited the New York office. The event followed a similar structure to the program’s July visit. President and Design Principal James von Klemperer welcomed the group, providing introductions to the studio and the firm’s mission. Associate Principals Yafei Zhang and Sydney Hamner and Architectural Designer Iyatunde Majekodunmi presented an overview of KPF’s projects and culture. They also shared their career paths, explaining the steps it takes to become an architect. Following, the students were led on a tour of the studio, library, and gallery, getting an inside look into the structure of the office.
