Following the firm’s tradition, KPF invited staff to design cards in theme with the Year of the Rabbit, followed by global employees voting on their favorite designs.
Following 2021’s Year of the Ox and 2022’s Year of the Tiger competitions, KPF designers celebrated the Year of the Rabbit with designs that reference the firm’s portfolio. The winning entry went to Qi Shen, an Architectural Designer in the New York office, whose rabbit figure’s texture follows the form of the Petersen Automotive Museum. To accompany his design, Qi shared, “The rabbit survives with agility, endeavors with curiosity, and accelerates with conviction.”
Mengshi Sun’s design came in second place. The Architectural Designer, also from the New York office, created a GIF with a rabbit jumping over the moon and some of KPF’s tallest towers. In celebrating the year, she shared, “May everyone be skillful and agile as a Rabbit in the New Year, and treasure times with families and friends (as the full moon represents).” In third place, Xuefei Yan, a Marketing Coordinator from the New York office, shared the inspiration behind her design. “It just came to me to simply use the silhouette of the China Resources Tower as the rabbit’s ears,” she said. “It reads just as a minimalist bunny!”
KPF wishes everyone a happy Lunar New Year!
