Closing out the year, KPF is proud to celebrate the accomplishments of the firm, reflecting on events, awards, and project and community milestones.
In 2022, KPF embraced in-person collaboration, enjoying the return of global travel and live events. Following another successful year, KPF is grateful for the work and dedication of staff, associates, and clients.
Multiple KPF projects opened in 2022, including 415 Natoma, a Class-A office building in San Francisco, and HKUST(GZ), a 267-acre research and learning campus. Chongqing’s tallest building and anchor to the International Land-Sea Center, Chongqing 100, topped out, as did One Madison Avenue, a renovation overlooking Madison Square Park. Growing the firm’s portfolio in life science developments, KPF’s designs were approved for Boston’s Channelside and London’s Vinegar Yard, and North Quay, Europe’s largest lab, was announced. Most recently, KPF revealed the design for The Parkside Seoul, a 5.2 million square foot neighborhood that expands the pedestrian experience through layered programming.
The firm’s projects were celebrated by awards programs globally, notably Heron received AIA Tampa Bay’s highest honor; One Vanderbilt and One Crown Place were named Best Tall Buildings by CTBUH, and Hudson Commons won an ULI Award of Excellence. In addition to project awards, KPF employees were recognized this year as powerful and impactful individuals in the industry – Principal Lloyd Sigal received Penn State’s Alumni Fellow Award, Bisnow named Director Angela Wu a Bay Area power woman, and AIA New York honored Global Diversity Officer Kavitha Mathew with a special citation. KPFui’s Scout, a shared web platform that allows users to design multiple schemes and alter levels of input to achieve various outcomes, was honored as a tool that represents change for the better.
2022 saw the publication of KPF Review, a bi-annual magazine, with the fall edition accompanied by a video focused on district architecture. Celebrations continued this year, with annual Pride Month events, multiple talks and community discussions for Women’s History Month, and Tech Week.
As we look to 2023, we are excited to continue working toward the firm’s goals of creating a more sustainable and responsible built environment.
