The District is “one of Dallas’ biggest developments,” and will feature a boutique office tower and an active retail corridor.
Spanning four acres north of Downtown Dallas, the development will include luxury residences, retail spaces, offices, and a boutique hotel. A public park is at the heart of the master plan, complementing the neighboring Katy Trail, an active pathway for pedestrians and cyclists that runs through the northern end of Dallas. KPF, part of a world-leading design team involved in the Knox District, is architect of the boutique office building, while Woods Bagot is responsible for the hotel, residential and retail components. HKS is serving as architect of record, and OJB Landscape Architecture is designing the development’s green space.
The Morning News notes that the “demand for office space and new residential units in Dallas’ Uptown district and in nearby neighborhoods has increased in the last year, with new projects leasing ahead of schedule.” The KPF-designed mixed-use office tower features terraces on multiple floors and a rooftop penthouse with outdoor access. The building comprises six workplace floors situated above two floors of retail and restaurant spaces, providing a covered paseo along the Knox District’s retail corridor.
KPF’s ongoing work in Dallas includes the North End Development, an 11-acre master plan that provides 1.5 acres of contiguous green space located at the intersection of several fast-evolving neighborhoods, and Parkside Uptown, a two-phase scheme that integrates a mix of programming.
