On August 10th, the KPF Principal and Director provided insight into the residential tower’s design, with a presentation followed by a tour.
Arthaus is a new landmark for the city’s cultural district, rising 47 stories above Philadelphia’s Avenue of the Arts. The massing of the tower is modulated into four rectangular volumes, stepping and interlocking to create an identifiable skyline presence. Arthaus features 108 light-filled units, each with its own terrace, and over 36,000 square feet of amenities, including a greenhouse and planting beds, an outdoor dog run, a pet grooming room, and an indoor lap pool, as well as 4,200 square feet of ground-floor retail space.
At the event, Josh and Jonah discussed the design process for the project during a talk held in the building’s amenity space. The KPF team was joined by representatives from IMEG Corp., the project’s structural engineer, and the client, Dranoff Properties, who led the tour.
