The KPF Principal Presented ‘Constructing a Mega-Terminal: Zayed International Airport Terminal A’ at Passenger Terminal Expo 2024.
Jochen discussed the delivery of Terminal A, including the logistics coordination between project teams and suppliers, the sequencing of the 52m-tall 180m free-span arch roof, and the challenge of designing major artworks that are integrated with building systems to create cutting-edge passenger attractions. Jochen’s presentation was part of the ‘Airport Design, Planning and Development’ program, where leading industry experts shared insights into airport design, operations, and optimising passenger experience.
Jochen was the Managing Principal for the delivery of Zayed International Airport Terminal A and is currently leading Changi Airport Terminal 5, where KPF is a design partner with Heatherwick Studio.
Passenger Terminal Expo was a three-day conference that addresses airport and airline business-critical issues and solutions, providing innovative ideas and progressive thinking for future development, and proven measures for maintaining passenger custom and satisfaction – all key to the industry’s future success.
