Jing An Kerry Center Wins CITAB-CTBUH China Urban Habitat Award

The CITAB-CTBUH China Tall Buildings Awards Program is a joint initiative of CTBUH (Council for Tall Buildings and Urban Habitats) and the China International Exchange Committee for Tall Buildings (CITAB), established in April 2015.

KPF’s Jing An Kerry Center in Shanghai is the recipient of the CITAB-CTBUH 2016 China Urban Habitat Award which recognizes projects ranging from brilliantly executed master plans to urban designs that have created quality urban environments where the interface between tall buildings and the urban realm is exemplary. The recipient project focuses on positive contribution to its surroundings and representation design informed by environmental and cultural contexts.

Jing An Kerry Center in Shanghai is the result of ten years of strategic planning and design. The complex rises 58 stories above ground and uses Shanghai’s transportation facilities on-site to create a development that is pedestrian-friendly, accessible, and economically sustainable. The incorporation of versatile spaces can be repurposed as local needs and conditions change over time, ultimately allowing the project to evolve with a growing Shanghai.
